Three things I've learned the past year

Hi my precious peeps, things have been rather quiet around here. With good reason, I may add.

My younger sister had a bit of a condition, the type where your stomach grows as large as a yoga ball and 9 months later deflates again. She doesn't have anyone else (except my mom, but she works full-time), so I went to help her, and after her little girl was born, well, let's just say that things didn't improve right away so I stayed on.

Thus, I was halfway across the world for the past year, and writing stories and Wattpad simply didn't feature in my busy schedule.

But now I'm back!

I've learned 3 things during this trying time:

  1. Being a mother is seriously hard work, and it takes up ALL OF YOUR TIME, including that precious few hours between 1 and 4 in the morning that you used to take for granted as sleeping time.
  2. Turns out I'm good with babies. Who knew? Although I would like to have one myself one day I'm not ready to give up my time and freedom yet.
  3. You know that saying that goes, "He slept like a baby", meaning he slept soundly? Well, whoever said that clearly didn't have a baby.

As a final thought, I just want to say I'm in love. She's a small, pink bundle of drool and poo. And vomit. I never knew babies had so much "stuff" in their little bodies that came out all the time! But when she looks at me with those big, innocent eyes and grasps my finger so tightly in her little hand, all of the goo doesn't matter anymore. It's just me and baby Boo, and I'm on top of the world.
